It is with regret and sadness that we have to announce the postponement of the Wiscombe Park Hillclimb events scheduled for the weekend of 25th and 26th July.
After much internal discussion and consulting with all interested parties, we reached the conclusion that as a result of the current pandemic we could not provide a safe operational environment for our spectators, officials, marshals, volunteers, competitors, their families, local community, etc. Therefore we have no choice but to postpone the July weekend events.
Clearly this impacts the British Hillclimb Championship – and we are extremely disappointed at not being able to host such a fantastic competition in the summer sunshine.
We will continue to liaise with all clubs and interested parties regarding the remainder of the season and, in particular, the position regarding our own Wiscombe Park Hillclimb Championship.
As you can imagine we are planning against an ever changing backdrop of Government and Motorsport UK guidance – covering motorsport and all the wider ‘outdoor sporting events’ directives. Once the pandemic situation improves you can be assured that we will continue to work tirelessly to try to rearrange / deliver as many events as possible in 2020.
Your patience and understanding at these difficult times is much appreciated. Please stay safe and we will issue further statements in due course.
Marshals are required, both new and experienced.
If you have not marshalled before we will partner you with experienced marshals to help and guide you.
