Navigational Rallies

These are evening road events run during the winter. As with trials, practically any car is suitable. Drivers have to be in possession of a full UK driving licence; navigators can be as young as 12. Crews are given route instructions and have to find their way around to get to control points and locate codeboards. Most car insurance doesn’t cover this type of activity, so third party Road Traffic Act cover is available at a cost of £17 plus the basic £10 entry fee.

There is an annual training session for navigators before each season, to explain the various types of navigation used.
